Solve the puzzles and go about the temple as your normally do, but Makar postion should be indicated on the map if you are having trouble. If you can't get to him, he's either very high up or in a another room. And you'll have to find a way to get to him....

If you have the Compass, Makar will appear on the map as a purple dot.

im having the same problem... and makars NOT a purple dot on the map...can i reset the temple or something?

makar is up in the cage-you can't see him at eye level- go into the room where you see the purple dot and do the command song with the wind waker- left,center,right,center- and you will become makar. you can then fly out of the cage and down to the ground.

if hes already out of the cage, or your past that part, then find the compass. it should tell you where he is, if not, just go to the door you and him just previously went through and he should be right there. other wise you can go to a lot of rooms and try to do the command melody to try to find him.
