The nickname for Abilene for the longest was "The Key City" (of West Texas) 1950-2002. Then some boneheads came up with "The Friendly Frontier" which didnt catch on. So they paying some PR compny $200K to rebrand the town as "Sparkle City" These PR folks couldnt believe how all the streets and parking lots sparkled in the sun. What they not know was it from all the pieces of broken beer bottles, but you get whatchu pay for.
