Question

Help answer this question below.

First the left speaker crackled. I switched the wires in the jacks (left speaker to the right jack, right speaker to the left jack), and now the right speaker crackles. What's wrong and how can I fix it?

It is also possible that you have experienced a component failure somewhere in the left channel ciruit (e.g., faulty transistor or IC).

If the speaker crackles when you are adjusting the volume, then if is likely due to a dirty volume potentiometer. If it is not the volume pot, it could be the connection to the speaker jacks on the inside. Either way, there is something wrong with the receiver and you should take it in for repair.
