The formula goes like this: A cat's first year equals the first 21 years of a human's life, because the feline anatomy is as fully developed as a 21 person. Then it's 3 people-years for every one cat-year after that. Thus, a six year year old cat would be 36 people-years old: 21 for the first year, and 15 years for the next five.
