I do Civil War and WW1 and WW2 re-enactments. Most of the uniforms and the accoutrements I use cost upwards of $2000+. It is an expensive hobby, but you can barter and deal for stuff and you don't need it all at once. You can look for bargains. I have more boots than my ex-wife had shoes. Most expensive was a WW1 German greatcoat. $8500.

Well, I went to a private High School that didn't believe in dancing, so instead of having a Jr/Sr prom we had a "Christmas Banquet"(all grades) and a "Jr/Sr Banquet" (Jr/Sr's only unless you were asked by one, same as prom) every year. And all that consisted of was getting all dressed up like you're going to prom, going to a place where they would "hold" a prom, eating dinner, and having lame a** entertainment. I went to each banquet all 4 years and one year went to prom at another school, so in total I bought 9 prom dresses over $200 a piece. That's a lot of freaking money on dresses that I only wore once!
-

A three-piece suit, way back in high school. Other than that, I don't think I've ever spent more than $80 for any single item of clothing.

3-piece suit - WITHOUT the extra pair of pants. It was more than I would care to share. Thanks for asking your Q! I enjoyed answering it! Very Truly Yours, Ron Berue Yes, that is my real last name! Source: Because you asked.

I can't tell you the last time I've purcased clothing for myself. For 17 years my wife did it, and for the past three it has been my girlfriend. Gave/gives them something to get me for my b'day and Christmas. Plus, they have better taste.:)Now if we're talking about what I've bought for them, that's another story.

-
I have a leather coat I bought a couple of years ago. It's worth around $200, but I paid $150 for it. Was it worth it? Heck yeah! You could stand in the middle of Alaska in the dead of the winter and sweat in the thing! I'll tell you - you don't get cold in it!

I suppose it would be my marquise engagement ring or the Rolex my husband gave me for our 5th wedding anniversary. In 1981, the little .59 diamond ring costs $2,500 because it is a blue-white diamond, blah blah. I don't know what it would cost to replace today. The Rolex was $1800. I just had a repair bill for $900 to have it cleaned and fix the water damage. The replacement price is $7500. I about died. Material things are not important to me by the way. I'm just a down-to-earth person.
