  • About 800 pounds per sq inch.
  • They say he could kill a full grown cow with a single punch.
  • all i know is that he punched hard enough to knock someone out. i also know that he was able to punch 4 times in like a second . not only jabs but also hooks.
  • Mike Tyson never had his punching power measured. I believe there was little need to except for the wanting to pleasure one's curiosity. In order for this to be possible, a device for measuring velocity and impact would need to be inserted into say a heavybag. There is a device that can be used to do this. It is called the Zimmer System and there are other devices like it. I would say - and this is a shot in the dark - that Iron Mike in his prime could probably score around 1600-1800 psi on a right cross. Maybe 800-900 psi on a hook and probably around 400-600 psi on an uppercut. As for actual data, again you would need to have a device for measuring that exactly. I will say that a wealter weight champion, Ricky Hatton, scored an impressive 400kg on a right cross using the Zimmer System. This is equal to half a ton. In other words, he punched around 1,000 lbs on a right cross. Now Hatton, again, is not a heavyweight, nor is he Mike Tyson. So take Hatton's score and give it a meaty bump and you'll get the idea. Mr. Tyson would have enough force - back in his prime especially - to not only knock out an average man, but hospitalize him, causing serious brain damage, facial fractures, sinus-hemorging and God only knows what else. The poor dude would probably get a broken neck to add to the list of other problems a right cross from Iron Mike is capable of doing. Perhaps someone should mail the Myth Busters who can rig up a device and call over Mr. Tyson for a punch party.
  • Out of 50 wins, he had 44KO's, 22 in the first round.
  • Extremely bloody hard....................
  • He was one of the hardest punchers of all time. The list includes George Forman and Ernie Shavers. These 3 men were probably the hardest hitters in boxing ever.
