  • It doesn't do good and in fact causes even more suffering for Palestinians than they already must endure. When this wall is completed, about two million Palestinians will be forced to live in a large ghetto. I've seen many photos of Israelis uprooting the olive trees and transplanting them in Israel. The bombing of homes and refugee camps is horrific!Palestine is under military control and its landscape is being systematically destroyed. Palestinians will have limited access to water even for drinking. Water usage is already severely restricted. A completed wall means Palestinians will be cut off from the rest of the world. The land confiscation and the inaccessibility to lands and water will have a horrific affect on all Palestinians. What kind of civilised society does this to people? The building of the Wall is beyond belief. This great injustice is in violation of international law. When international laws are blatantly ignored, I fail to see even limited success in a peace plan designed by a country that supplies Israel with their military might. The Wall is one of the great horrors of our time!
  • Israel uses "security " as justification. Israel claims the Wall is to defend its own citizens but the building of it is not supported by all Israelis. It's built under the guise of security, which has made it palatable to many world-wide. The building of this Wall, which includes electronic fences, security checkpoints, roadblocks and military installations (at a cost of 3 billion dollars) goes deep into the Palestinian lands. The consequences are purely inhumane. There is a total lack of respect and blatant disregard of basic human rights. Though in violation of international law, none have looked at the irreversible harm to all Palestinians. None are ensuring the Palestinians their fundamental rights to basic security and freedoms. Israel is an occupying power and the Geneva Convention prohibits an occupying power from making its occupation permanent. The Wall suggests permanency. Regarding security - What the media fails to report is the fact many thousands of innocent Palestinians die because of Israeli bombing raids. It is not Palestine who has the military hardware! They began a small defence of stone throwing and then escalated to suicide bombers. Of course ANY innocents who die as a result of war is horrifying but what people fail to understand is that the suicide bombers are NO match for Israel's military might used to murder countless thousands of innocent Palestinians. We are speaking of a 100 to 1 ratio here! It's a kill or be killed situation for Palestinians. The extermination of Palestinians is state run terrorism. It’s racist and evil what Israel is doing yet the building of the Wall continues under the guise of security. This is how Israel justifies the building of the Apartheid Wall. Also, not to forget they believe they’re the so-called “chosen people” so God is also used in their justifications. Without knowing all the politics I will never understand how anyone can deprive a baby of water or baby food and this is something Palestinians have lived with for years. Some Jews are sickened by what is being done to Palestinians. When Arabs kill Jews it’s called terrorism but when Jews bomb and bulldoze, destroying life and property it’s called defence. Israel has nuclear capability so it is plain to see who the aggressor is. It’s not Palestine. Islam prevents the Muslim Palestinian from taking a surrender of peace position to their enemy (after all it is they who are living under Israeli occupation) but imagine what television networks could do with that. Israel would lose its case for justification and any remaining support from western nations would quite likely end. State run terrorism would stop in a heartbeat.
  • It would seem that the wall could prevent suicide bombers from entering Israel, and hence mean less brutal reprisals to Palestinian civilians.
  • The fact is, after the War of Independence and the six day war, Gaza and the West Bank belonged to Israel. The green lines are not in any way a border. Anybody that is up on their history knows that. The Israelis have to maintain a certain amount of respect because they have Arab nations on all sides. The fence is nothing more than a security initiaitve. There are checkpoints every two miles. Also, the big grey fence in Jerusalem? That's only there. If you go around the rest of the country, the fence is just that, a fence. Like one you have in your backyard. I was there, I saw it with my own eyes. Also, if you didn't know, there is a fence in Gaza. Yeah, you didn't know that did you? The Palistinian people are a fraud. Abbas said it himself. He said that the Palistinian people are just for Jordan so that Jordan can have this land. Guess what, the Koran does not mention Jerusalem or Israel at all in its texts. Try finding Israel and Jerusalem, it's not there! The fence is keeping out the people that don't belong. Once you stop bombing little children, (which Israel doesn't do, it's hard when you have rocks being thrown at you to see who's doing it) maybe we can take the fence down. Oh, and one more thing, Israel has been trying to make peace for over 50 years. Maybe if the Palistinians stopped acting like 5 year olds, they'd get something.
