According to the Canon website 7 flashes indicates that the incorrect Print Head has been installed. I know it is sometimes possible to fit a Print Head from a different printer into a Canon printer - it'll fit but it won't work!

If you have recently changed the Print Head make sure you have installed the correct one:

    Black: BCI-6 BK (4705A002)
    Cyan: BCI-6 C (4706A002)
    Magenta: BCI-6 M (4707A002)
    Yellow: BCI-6 Y (4708A002)
