Help answer this question below.
If it won't eat or drink, something is wrong, so you need to take it to the vet. If you do not, you are, in reality, guilty of cruelty to animals.
Ask a vet.
maybe she can't eat or drink. Same thing happened to my little sweetie with not eating or drinking. Turned out there was a tumor wrapped around her stomach. You really should see a vet immediately.
Get off AB and take kitten/cat 2 vet asap. Somethings wrong w/kitty. Pse let me know how kitty is doing. Regards, Cat Luva.
cover the food with cat nip or give it a enema
Please take your poor moggy to the Vet. One day ours suddenly stopped eating, turned out he needed 3 teeth removing and a gum infection :-(
Thankfully all sorted and now a very happy cat again allbeit with 3 less teeth, he is 16 so not doing too bad for his age :-)
Hi, some cats just don't drink much. This is normal - if they get enough fluid through wet food!
It is as usually a question of circumstances.
Usually the cats get thirsty when they eat dry food (there is usually some salt in it which makes them thisty). If you only started to introduce dry food and the cat just isnt used to it, you can try to add a bit water to the wet food and graduately change the food to dry food.
Most cats like really fresh water - mine love to drink from the tap or a fountain. But cats hate chemicals - sometimes they only drink the water when it is a day old or so as some chemicals evaporate. If your water smells like chlorine or is known to contain chemicals (e.g. desalinated water!) don't use tap water but bottled water. Often this can do the trick.
Tiny cats need to learn how to drink. If it didn't have 'mummy' you can show the cat with your finger. It will imitate it after a while.
But ... If your cat can't poop for more than a day you need to see the doctor! It could have a bowel infection or sth stuck...
If your cat won't drink and feed at all there is something wrong and you must go to the doctor.
It could also have a gum infection, toothache, a virus or worse.
i think a vet is in order but might be worth nipping to the shops and getting some fish like tuna etc to try and encourage eating
Squeeze it around the mid-section.
Enema at the vet's ......
GO TO THE VET! TAKE KITTY TO KITTY DOCTOR. STOP ASKING PEOPLE ON AB WHO AREN'T VETERINARY PROFESSIONALS (to your knowledge). GO TO VET, DON'T BE CRUEL TO YOUR CAT! THERE ARE TONS OF REASONS AS TO WHY CATS WON'T EAT/DRINK. IF YOUR ONLY CONCERNED ABOUT THE BOWEL MOVEMENT YOU'RE AN IDIOT. THERE ARE REASONS BEHIND THIS NOT EATING/DRINKING. FIGURE IT OUT, GET IT BETTER (via veterinarian) AND THE CAT WILL TAKE AN EFFIN SHIT.
