If the pledge of allegiance is said to pledge your allegiance to the United States, and be loyal to your country, why isn't it said anymore? Don't say it's because of God, It's not God's fault.

You're reading When a young man (or woman) is commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant, should he be addressed as "2nd Lieutenant Smith", or just "Lieutenant Smith"? And should his mailing address reflect this change in rank?
