What is meant by"adaptation"as applied to an adult?

In context of a third marriage it means something like "Hey lady - I am done with adaptation - its YOUR turn."

I believe it's to understand that there are some things that need to be changed on a daily basis.

Maturity should be seen as the ability to come up with a solution with the use and the sacrifice of the appropriate resources as it becomes needed.

This is the hallmark of a mature living being: the ability to adapt.

Adult is a state of mine.To change to suit your envelopment in an ever changing environmental state of well being ,depend on balance to adjust presence to current status. The ability to surprise yourself by doing the opposite of what you normally do.

Why is this strictly biological term being used in this loose and inaccurate psychological manner?

Having enough money to buy whatever technology and health care is demanded by society to survive.

Successfully adjusting, and even thriving, in changing circumstances.

Getting used to. As in, "He moved to a new house in Canada and his adaptation to the new cold climent was impressive given he's never lived where it snows"....

to me it means that the fewer choices you have..based on whatever circumstances you are under...the more you learn to cope and make the best of things..the old "make lemonade out of lemons" kind of thinking..

and believe me..I do this kind of thinking every day..life is too short to complain, whine, moan and groan about how bad things are...many, many, many folks have it FAR worse than little 'ole me..
