Help answer this question below.
Mr. Tress?
A jerk
A matress?
An Adultereress and he is a Worthless Cheat
Many, many impolite words that I probably shouldn't use. =)
a gigolo
Philander
1. To carry on a sexual affair, especially an extramarital affair, with a woman one cannot or does not intend to marry. Used of a man.
2. To engage in many love affairs, especially with a frivolous or casual attitude. Used of a man.

Walking Target

drop the mis........"stress" ;D
A huge mistake.
I think you get to choose between "asshole" and "lying rat bastard."
He is called a fool. The bigger question is why is she still given the honor of being called a wife? She is an adulterous whore, not a wife.
I would use the word "lover":
- the term can also be used for a woman, so it would be preferable to the "mistress" in that case
- a mister could be counfounded with this device for making or spraying mist, they do not necessarily deserve this
If there were an idea of domination, the counterpart of "mistress" would be "master"
This question is pointing at one of these differences in the treatment from men and women, as it find its correspondence in the language.

Some more thoughts:
I suppose the man is *not* married, because there is no clue about him being married.
And anyway, the question is not: "What do you think on a man cheating on his wife?"
So I suppose that both of them know exactly what they are doing and are enjoying it.
The person who would not appreciate this relation would be the husband of the woman.
You could also condemn this if you are for fidelity in marriage or have experienced cheating from your partner.
But just because there exists no usual name for this behavior, why would you call them names or say that you wish their death?
First, this ignores that she is the one who is cheating on her husband, he is not cheating on anybody.
Second, how could you have this opinion about the man having an affair with a married woman and not, in the same moment, point out that you have the same opinion about the woman having an affair with a married man ?
The reason for the divorce!
If the married man supports the woman, she is his mistress. If she just sleeps with him and is not a kept woman, I think she is just a promiscuous tart. If a man has an affair with a married woman and she pays his way, he is a gigolo. If he just sleeps with her and isn't kept by her, he is just a typical opportunistic male who has no moral code and will sleep with whatever is available. :)
If he gets caught in the act by a jealous spouse, his name possibly could be "Corpse." At least that's what I think they call them at the Coroner's office.
A co-respondent. look it up.
Would have to be a Mastress. Hmm, close to mattress eh?
If she's being supported by him, she's his mistress.
If he's being supported by her, he's a gigolo.
I think the woman is happy to be having a spare..so I'll call him that.
An a**hole.
But I believe the gentler term is adulterer.
A stud ?
a Cad!
a cheater
Back-up Plan
I think they are referred to as a Mister.
He is usually called a stallion..
Unfortunately in this society he'd probably be called a "stud".
Adulterer
I think the legal term is "adulterer" that says on the summons from his wife.
an ass
A big fat loser
An adulterer.
BOY TOY!!!!!
a histress?
Soon to be single, broke and gone.
How about selfish Prick who only gives a crap about his own selfish needs and doesn't care anything about how his actions will affect his wife or children if he has any.
thats a sad excuse for a "man"
"A dead man".
Women are born detectives and can sniff an affair in progress a mile away.
Mis-dressed.
If he gets caught, he is called screwed.
Dead man walking.
Quite honestly, I don't think there is a comparable term for a man who has an affair with a married woman.
I think to be fair, he cannot be called anyhing derogatory as "mistress" is not a derogatory term (in my book at least).
So I'll go with paramour or lover.
It seems a lot of the answers are missing the point of the question and being very biased and sexist against the man...... he might be much younger than the female and be the 'hunted' instead of the 'hunter' ...she might be a 'cougar'...and this leaves me wondering what they would call the married woman in this scenario......??!!
Adulterer.
man whore. lol!!
paramour
Gunshot victim.
I can't believe I am the first to say "Lying Cheating Bastard"
Closely followed by "the deceased"
I have a very low opinion of anyone who cheats - marriage is til death us do part and if my husband cheats the only certainty is that he will have accelerated it!
Lucky?
