In Windows 98, Outlook Express, in the In Box are 4000 e-mails. How can I delete most of them but not all of them, saving the 25 most current only?

-Sort emails by date. (click on the title of the "date" column until the newest date is at the top)
    -Select/highlight email #26
-SHIFT-END (to select all below that)
-SHIFT-DELETE (to delete bypassing the trash)

    Alternative:
-Create rule to delete all emails older than a certain date
    -Apply rule to inbox

Select all the emails (Ctrl-A). Then while holding down the Ctrl key, click again on the emails you want to save. This should "un-highlight" them. Once you have un-highlighted the ones you want to save, you can press Delete, and the rest should go away.

Another way would be to go to the first one you want to delete, click it. Then scroll down to the bottom of the mailbox. While holding down the Shift key, click on the last email. Press Delete.
