Adding crushed coral to the white rock will prepare the white rock for use in a salt tank, but converting from fresh water to salt is a bit more complicated than that. Many other things need to change too.

Hello; Yes, and it is a good idea. Let the Ammonia cycle finish and add some fish. If you are new to Saltwater keep reading. A Saltwater tank should be loaded with only 1/2 inch of fish per gallon and remember these fish may grow. Saltwater does not hold as much disolved oxygen as freshwater does so surface agitation must be maintained with an air-stone, powerhead etc,. Fancy bright lights are only needed when growing corals and some algae on live rock. Temperature should be around 78-degrees and a protein skimmer is a good idea along with a 10% water change a week. Buy some sea food medley in the grocery store and throw it in the blender to make some good fish food --- not soup now! Use a frezer bag and smash it flat and thin to freeze. Enjoy! Old_Fish_Man
