  • yes, look at the credits it says written by george lucas. and credits do not lie.
  • George Lucas wrote the scripts for episodes 1, 3 and 4 all by his lonesome. For episode 2 he worked with british screenwriter Jonathan Hales, and for episode 6 he worked with talented SF author Lawrence Kasdan. However, episode 5 "The Empire Strikes Back" is generally regarded as the most well-written installment, and all Lucas did was come up with the story. The screenplay was written by Leigh Brackett & Lawrence Kasdan.
  • George Lucas created the story. He started working on the stories of the old triology (4-6) even before American Graffiti came out. However, on many of his screenplays on the movies (both the old and new trilogy) where co-written by a second author. I know for a fact that both the Return of the Jedi and Attack of the Clones had co-author on the screenplays, as I just watched them and the credits recently, and their were probably co-authors on the others. All you need to do is run your movie through the credits. As far as George Lucas writing the books, no he didn't write any of the books. There have been novelizations of his movies and books based on the screenplay, but these were all written by other authors. However, all books written about Star Wars have to be, and the following I mentioned were, approved by Lucas.
  • It said George Lucas on the book 'Star Wars' I read...so what gives?
