  • Aegyptus (Egypt) was the southrnmost province of the Roman Empire, and Thebes, one of its biggest cities, is in the far south of Egypt. It is possible that there are smaller less signifigant cities that could be considered further south.
  • The southernmost city of Egypt was Syene, site of the present-day Aswan Dam. This would have been the southernmost city of the Roman Empire after it acquired Egypt as a province.
