    Professionally Researched. (What's this?)

Two hospital bracelets are given to the mother. One is for admittance into the hospital; the other is given after birth, matching mother and baby. A third bracelet is given if there are medication allergies. Newborn babies are given two: one for the infant and one identifying the mother.
