How can you find out if a car in on a repossession list? Is there a website to enter the VIN number or an agency to call?

    The best way to find out is to call your financial institution and ask them. Ask them how much time you have left before you are required to relinquish the vehicle because you are in the process of getting the money together. More than likely they will give you an exact date by which all of the missed payments must be paid.

    Because vehicles are financed by various institutions using various methods, a master repo list or some sort of centralized system of reporting is non existant. GMAC or Ford Credit might have a list of thier deliquent customers, however its not likely that they wouild make that information available to the general public.
