    According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 4.4 km sq (1.7 square miles), all land.

    The city also has one of the highest teen pregnancy rates in the Monterey County. This year alone 12 students from the Class of 2009 in Greenfield High School became pregnant.
