    A dedicated server is one in which you have complete control over the server and could utilize it anyway you want. When you are in shared hosting, or sharing a virtual server, you have cannot usually have complete control of the server out of consideration for the other folks.

    Also, you can use all of the servers processing and memory for your site and not share resources.
