A reconstructor is a type of conditioner. A conditioner's main purpose is promote moisture, smooth hair cuticle cells and enhance shine and manageability. Most "regular" coditioners are formulated with humectants (compounds that attract and hold moisture into the hair). The main purpose of a reconstructor is to strengthen the hair and is formulated with protein and is meant for use in hair that is very badly damaged. they are the same exept on goes deeper into your hair to repair it better

conditioner smoothes over the hair's cuticle. reconstructor goes into the hair's cuticle and repairs the damaged hair from the inside out. it had protein in it and if you use too much, too quickly, your hair can become brittle and break off.
