    Professionally Researched. (What's this?)

Kate Prout with Aetna Market and Clinical Communications said members cannot use their Aetna health savings accounts (HSA) to pay for fitness memberships per Internal Revenue Code. Section 213 of the Internal Revenue Code and Publication 502 state that you cannot use HSAs to improve your general health or improve physical or mental discomfort unless it is related to a particular medical condition.
