J.V. Higdon JV and B. Frei of the Linus Pauling Institute. The Mayo Clinic also warns that some people may have increased cholesterol and risk for heart disease because of coffee consumption. Whether or not coffee is good or bad for an individual depends on other factors linked to her overall health. Coffee can have benefits and risks, and people concerned about their coffee consumption should talk to a doctor to find out if their consumption level is safe.
