    Professionally Researched. (What's this?)

Carbon-14, which is also called radiocarbon, was discovered at the University of California Radiation Laboratory in Berkeley by Sam Ruben and Martin Kamen on February 27, 1940. The process to use carbon-14 to date objects was developed in 1949 by scientists at the University of Chicago.
