    According to Article I, Section 2 Clause 5 of the U.S. Constitution, the House of Representatives has the sole responsibility of impeachment. Clauses 6 and 7 of the same section grant the Senate the power to conduct the impeachment trial. To date, Samuel Chase is the only Supreme Court justice to undergo the impeachment process.
