    Professionally Researched. (What's this?)

While not illegal, driving with your left foot on the accelerator of a car meant to be driven using your right foot can be intensely dangerous. It greatly inhibits your control of the vehicle, which could lead to deadly accidents. In some instances, you need to use your left foot to drive, such as when using a vehicle with a manual transmission (the left foot works the clutch).

if you drive a manual car it would be difficult to use the clutch without using your left foot.
