  • I have sleep issues as well. A few years ago I made myself go to bed at the same time every night. I took OTC sleeping pills about 2 hours before I went to bed. I set the alarm for the same time every morning(even if I didnt have to get up). After about 6 weeks I was on a good sleep schedule. I wish I could say the same for now, I works nights now and am all messed up with my sleep schedule.
  • Drink mass quantities of strong beer. Set your schedule in accordance to this and you will wake up at the desired time when you set your alarm. Repeat with required dosage until your body adjusts to the new time schedule.
  • I have Insomnia too, so take Tylenol PM or Advil PM and I sleep well. If this continues you may want to talk to your doctor.
  • I have traveled a lot across time zones for years. What I found helpful is to think of time as a reference point for what I have to do next. I also have trouble sleeping (I usually get about 4 hours per night). My recommendation is to not focus on trying to get to sleep, think about what you need to do tomorrow, and try getting to sleep based on that. Also, plan on a time to go to sleep vs. a time to go to bed. If you have a TV in the bedroom, remove it. Beds are for three things. Sleeping, sex, and reading before going to sleep.
