Supid people know better - Ignorant may have a problem with learning and comprehending
-
Ignorance is simply a lack of knowledge. We are all ignorant in some areas, just some of are more ignorant than others. Stupidity is if someone has no desire to understand or learn. I can handle ignorance and it easily solved by getting the knowledge needed. I don't like stupidity and have very little patience with stupid people.

I would rather be ignorant as that can be easily fixed. However being stupid is probably a happier place to be. Being stupid is a state of being. Is is a statement about their mental capacity. Being ignorant is to be uneducated and/or ill informed. Being stupid cannot be fixed, although science is working on solving this problem. Being ignorant is easily cured by education and experience.

Being stupid. Personally, I see 'stupid people' as being unable to learn/comprehend, and 'ignorant people' as not knowing something. Everyone is ignorant in some respect...we don't know everything.

I don't know anything about sports, therefore I am ignorant in that topic. However, I can design large, complex computer systems while discussing the differences between French cooking methods and Asian cooking methods. I'm not stupid, but I admit to being ignorant in topics. Also, if your stupid, you don't know what you don't know. And likely don't care.

Stupid people refuse to learn. Ignorant people are uninformed.

I think being stupid is worse than being ignorant. The dictionary definition of stupid is, foolish or senseless; while the definition of ignorant is, lacking knowledge or training/ unlearned. This means that if you are ignorant to something you lack the knowledge of that thing, whereas if you are stupid to something you have the knowledge yet fail to apply it for whatever reason. Therefore, I would much rather be ignorant than stupid(stubborn).

duh? what say?

Ignorance is largely a matter of choice, stupidity is often a natural product. When you have both- you end up as a Conservative.
