Question

Help answer this question below.

I remember reading a semi-fictional book about Sawney Beane, infamous Scottish cannibal, in the late 70's/early 80's. Now I can find nothing about the man or his life. Can anyone help with a title this book may have had, or does anyone know another?

I have no clue how old this question is ???
The name of the book is, "The Flesh Eaters".
By L. A. Morse, 1979

hahaha, i still have my copy, but i did see them used on amazon and ebay.

Thank you for your question.

Wikipedia lists a number of books about Sawney Bean including:

* The Legend of Sawney Bean, by Ronald Holmes, London, 1975
* The Flesh Eaters, by L.A. Morse, Warner Books, 1979

Mick Lewis's novel The Bloody Man also deals with the myth of Sawney Bean, which is also mentioned in the fictional novel Paying the Piper by Sharyn McCrumb. Jack Ketchum's novel Off Season is an update of the Sawney Bean legend, with the cannibalistic clan headquartered in a sea cave on the Maine coast.

Hopefully, one of those is the books that you're after.

Armed with the title and author, contact a local college library. If they don't have it, they have a network between them and will be able to locate and possible transfer the book to a local library for you.
