I found this website that shows in the middle of the article that words can look like http://www.kidshealth.org/teen/school_jobs/school/dyslexia.html i've seen other examples that are more severe. I'm mildly dyslexic, so words appear fine to me, but i have difficulty reading them sometimes, mixing up letters or words and interchanging them.

The words appear exactly the same, just chopped up in a different manor then taught. And I can't follow directions to save my life.

My oldest son, when in 3rd grade, brought a paper home with a note from the teacher. It said please hold this up in front of the mirror. Well I looked at what my son had written and I could not read it..put it up in front of the mirror and it was completely correct. The sentence he had copied off the black board was totally backwards. This is when we found out he had dyslexia.
