    Professionally Researched. (What's this?)

The amount of time varies from state to state. In Wisconsin, for example, you typically receive your plates two to three weeks after you get the title and registration certificates. In that state, you must display a temporary or permanent license plate within two days of purchase.

In some states I have gotton my tag the same day. (at DMV) One state took 44 days, to mail it to me. I was riding on a 45 day temp. tag! Too close for comfort! The next day I would have had to go to the DMV and "BUY" another 45 day tag, for $30!
