Don't you find it ironic that people who "love the outdoors" use camping equipment made of plastic which hurts Mother Earth?

Speak for yourself. I recycle everything I use while camping and everything I pack in, I pack out. I also leave every camp sight cleaner than I found it. My buddies and I along with our children make a game out of the last hour of the last day by trying to fill up garbage sacks with other campers waste. We also recycle all the glass, aluminum, ammunition casings, and plastic that we find and burn all the paper. My camping gear is mostly light weight aluminum and the plastic pieces that I do have are fully recyclable.

Yeah. Maybe next time I'll just chop a few trees down to make my shelter.

Love hurts. She'll get over it. If she can handle earthquakes, volcanoes, giant meteorite/asteroid collisions, and billions of living creatures defecating trillions of times on her every day, I think she can handle me accidentally leaving a plastic stake or a cheap lighter next to the relative base of her butt-hair.

I find it ironic that Mother Earth has probably been responsible for more death than plastic, and that we actually use plastic to protect ourselves from the ravages of Mother Earth.

Please try, from now on, to worry about things that actually matter.

theres a new biological enzyme in Japan that was recently discovered which actually lives off plastic. It was not man-made... it evolved because there was a need for it. that is how amazing the earth / universe is at diversity and fighting back. Life will always find a way through. You may think humans are hurting her but trust me, she can keep up. And if not themn she could easily get rid of us all...
