  • i would look at where the hood and trunk meet up with the rest of the car, for starters. does it line up straight? if not, it's likely been in an accident (which some sellers may not tell you about). i'm not the best at these things though, so i have used carfacts in the past. one car i was looking at had some suspicious odometer stuff going on, so i decided not to buy it...
  • Have u tried Consumer Reporst Auto Magazine?? That is what I did wiht the same Question u just asked. Consumer Reports Auto issue is in every book store and is easy to read. Very helpful too.
  • I first read "Consumer Report" and see what their rating is on the vehicle I'm interested in. Their rating is so thorough and everyone I know swears by their ratings. Then I check out the mileage of the vehicle and what the remainder warranty is like. I check to see if it has an extended warranty and see if there are any records of service on the vehicle. Basically, I'm looking for problems. You just don't want to take one someone else's problems. Nothing worse than making a car payment along with a repair bill.
