  • road bike. i'm a bit far to really put a mountain bike to good use.
  • Either one. I'll choose the one that has 2 wheels and good brakes.
  • I live in northern california, the home of the mountain bike and they're just more fun and versatile.
  • mountain bike because most people in america dont care about bikes so they run them off the road and it is hard to control a road bike on the dirt
  • Mountain bike every time! Road bikes are just too fragile. You gotta be able to take your bike up and down gutters, down a few stairs and off on some trails or it's just no fun!
  • Mountain bike. Even on pavement, I bend rims due to my riding style. I tacoed a 2.2-inch mountain bike rim without hitting anything or jumping; just a run-of-the-mill T-stop. Imagine what I'd do to a road bike if I actually rode hard! I go over curbs. I bunnyhop potholes (beats swerving in front of traffic or hitting parked cars). And I ride in the rain and the snow. The last time I rode a road bike in the rain, the tires wouldn't grip well enough to turn and the brakes would NOT grab AT ALL. I nearly broke my shoulder. Do you know how much the passenger's side mirror on a Jeep Cherokee hurts? Might've hurt more if it hadn't snapped off....
  • neither! Get a dirt bike instead! =)
  • Road Bike. All the way.
  • It depends on your use. If you want to commute in the city or ride rough, then get a mountain, commuter, or hybrid bike. If you are looking to "race" ride for speed,or go long distance road riding, I suggest getting a road bike. Regardless of which bike you go for, have fun!
  • Mountain bike! :)
  • ITS GOT TO BE MTB
  • I prefer a mountain bike.
  • I had a road bike and used it about 3 times. It was boring... had to religiously stick to the road, instead of hop and jump and generally relive the boredom of roads:) Road bikes are for competitive use or long commutes only... an MTB is more fun and arguably keeps you fitter.
  • i ride both as well as flatland bmx and have been thinking about a fixie.i just need to ride something propelled by me.
