    Professionally Researched. (What's this?)

Blood pressure is measured using a systolic, or maximum, and diastolic, or minimum, pressure reading. Normal blood pressure is typically 120/80, or "120 over 80." According to the Mayo Clinic, low blood pressure is having a reading of 90/60 or less.

Oh geez people really don't know much about high blood pressure, huh? "dead" ? Seriously? No. its not dead.

I had high blood pressure for a long time. I'm only 19 and I was 17-18 when I had it. That is not normal for a person my age- its normally only happens to elderly people. My highest was 193/132, which is terrible- if 193 wouldve reached 200 I would've had a stroke. Due to the high blood pressure, I had excruciating pressure headaches every day that made me cry, sleeping didnt help, medicine didnt help, laying down didnt help. I also couldn't eat- I would take one bite of food and immediately feel nauseous, so I went down to 95 lbs. At school I wasn't able to participate in sports or gym because my heart rate was so high. After 5 minutes of jogging I would vomit due to the pain. After an astounding number of doctor and hospital visits, blood tests, dehydration, cat scans, and ultra sounds they finally determined the cause- my kidney had to be removed because the surrounding arteries were closed, it was not recieving blood or putting out urine, and it 70% smaller than my other kidney. I now have 4 scars on my stomach from the surgery and feel a lot healthier but I have to watch my weight and health for the rest of my life: I can't consume alcohol and can't gain too much weight. If I get pregnant it will be a high risk pregnancy since my one kidney cant take care of 2 people and there is a good chance that either myself or the child could die. I am also prone to frequent UTIs.

SO. High blood pressure is indeed a very serious condition.

Depends on your general physical condition, age, and activity while reading pressure.
