I would first start off wit their diet. Also a good idea is getting another younger cat so they can run and play together. What a workout!

Have you thought about changing her cat food to a weight management formula? follow the instructions on the back and play with her alot,I have a play wand that my cat chases everyday and she gets pleanty of exerszise. try and see how it helps.

Perhaps your cat just has a slow metabolism or is lacking stimulation to run around. Get another cat to give him something to chase.

Take the cat off wet and switch to dry cat food. Get many kinds of toys. Cats like toys. If you have to, lace the toys with catnip.

Stop overfeeding it.

Buy a Doberman Pinscher.

As far as I am concerned, if the cat is healthy and eating well then all is good.

well to my knowledge cats are fat but all cats grow bigger and a little fat, so it is probably normal. though if its be becoming a problem you should try changing its diet but not a huge change because it is probably used to its normal food. Also you can take it outside so it becomes energetic and it gets fresh air. if the problem continues i suggest that you talk to your vet.

Nope - we have the beginnings of this problem. Bumette is not given to movement unless it is to & from the biscuit bowl. Bumette is expanding rapidly. I wonder sometimes, if Bumette is the world's first inflatable cat.

First, I'd take the cat to the vet to have it checked out and make sure there are no underlying problems. The vet should be able to suggest the best weight management food to try. Do you also have lots of toys and play with your cat a lot as well? You may also want to try this....

It's really hard to get a cat to lose weight and it needs to be done really slowly or else you risk sending too much ft to teh liver which can make the cat get Feline Hepatic Lipidosis which is usually fatal in cats. Cats can't handle rapid weight loss, even 48 hours without food can make the cat get FHL. The cat in my avatar almost died from it last year. He has surviv3ed and unfortunately has gained weight again, though we are keeping it stable with green beans and pumpkin added to his wet food. And he is being fed a diet with NO gluten of any kind, no grains other than rice, no corn, no soy. We feed EVO food as it is the best. You may think you are spending more but it isn't a wasteful food. The cat eats a small amount and is actually full of nutritious food and doesn't want more. Often with corn or soy based feed, they will keep feeling hungry in one hour wanting more. We free feed most of our cats and we've seen a huge crop in the amount of food they eat and even the amount they poop when they are fed great top quality feed. Cat's do not have the digestive system to process any grain or seed. They just can't do it. It should be a crime for these compaines to make this product.
