  • Did a lot of organizing and cleaning up in the kitchen. It was looking quite scary. I don't know if housework is a celebration but believe me, I think my husband celebrated it.

  • This is taken from a Catholic web Site: http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/05224d.htm The English term, according to the Ven. Bede (De temporum ratione, I, v), relates to Estre, a Teutonic goddess of the rising light of day and spring “On Easter Monday the women had a right to strike their husbands, on Tuesday the men struck their wives, as in December the servants scolded their masters. Husbands and wives did this. In the Neumark (Germany) on Easter Day the men servants whip the maid servants with switches; on Monday the maids whip the men. They secure their release with Easter eggs. These customs are probably of pre-Christian origin”. “The Easter Rabbit lays the eggs, for which reason they are hidden in a nest or in the garden. The rabbit is a pagan symbol and has always been an emblem of fertility (Simrock, Mythologie, 551).” Somewhere after the Apostasy, the “Church Fathers” thought that it was a good idea to “honor” Christ with a day of celebrations rooted in Pagan religion. No, I do not celebrate Easter.
  • Well on saturday, I took my kids easter egg hunting and they got alot of candy. On sunday, we went to church listened to the message about Jesus being raised from the dead on the 3rd day. It was a very good service. The praise and worship dancers danced to "I can only imagine". and last of all, my daughter (8 yrs. old) gave her heart to the Lord, and I was very happy.
