Wireless printers, as their name implies, are printers that do not need to be hooked up to a computer or laptop with a cable. Having a wireless printer can make an office much less cluttered. Almost all computer hardware companies make a variation of a wireless printer. Some also act as scanners and fax machines, making them all-in-one printers. Wireless printers do not require a cable to be connected to a laptop or desktop computer, which means they can be placed in another part of the home or office to conserve space. Wireless printers do still need to be plugged into a power source. Most wireless printers are compact, making them ideal for small offices or home businesses. Wireless printers that have scanning capabilities tend to be larger. A wireless connection, much like an internet connection, is established between the computer and the printer with the use of a CD driver. After the connection is established, printing to the wireless machine can be accomplished as long as the computer is within a certain area. In addition to reducing the amount of space and cables required for hooking up a traditional printer, wireless printers tend to be of higher quality and therefore last longer. Although they can be more expensive, the benefits tend to outweigh the cost. How to Install a Wireless PrinterTypes
