Help answer this question below.
In addition to being encrypted, commercial digital video discs (DVDs) often cannot be copied due to their size. Even if the encryption is bypassed, the content won't fit on single-layer DVD-R discs. DVDShrink is a Windows program that overcomes this obstacle. Many DVDs are double-layer discs that are twice the size of the discs that most home computers can burn. Aside from the length of the movie, discs contains trailers, special features and multiple video and audio formats. In addition, most DVDs are encrypted to prevent users from copying them. DVDShrink defeats most commercial disc encryption, but its major feature is compression of the original files to make them smaller. The compression is variable to retain the highest quality possible. Another important feature of the program is the ability to select only the content that is desired. Re-authoring the disc allows the user to omit unnecessary features to reduce the size of the backup copy. DVDShrink sends its output directly to the popular Nero DVD burning program if that is installed, or stores it on the hard drive in standard DVD format for later use with any burning software. There is no cost to download and use DVDShrink. It is freeware.DVD Content
