As a general rule, the larger a person is, the greater there alcohol tolerance, because their liver is larger and therefore has more hepatic tissue able to produce greater levels of alcohol dehydrogenase, the enzyme that metabolises alcohol.
However, this is certainly no hard and fast rule, and alcohol tolerance can depend on many more factors, such as genetics, whether they have eaten food recently, their levels of hydration, if they are on certain medications and many, many more.
