Run flat tires are more expensive than regular tires because of the extra support they offer. While the price may be more, the tires are certainly worth the extra safety.
Fun Fact
The vehicles that have run flat tires as standard equipment also have a tire pressure monitoring system. This system will indicate if the tire is, so that the driver is aware that the tire needs to be replaced.
