According to a 2009 study conducted at the Rudjer Bosković Institute in Croatia that appeared in "Plant Foods for Human Nutrition," cherry juice has potential use as an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory product.
Gout
Drinking cherry juice can prevent attacks of gout, according to a University of Texas study that appeared in "Texas Reports on Biology and Medicine" in 1950.
Heart
Tart cherries, sold in juice form, may help lower cholesterol levels, slow weight gain and reduce the risks of heart disease and diabetes, according to a 2008 University of Michigan study that appeared in the "Journal of the American Dietetic Association."
Older Adults
Tart cherry juice improves antioxidant defenses that combat diabetes, cancer and Alzheimer's disease in older adults, according to a Kronos Longevity Research Institute and Vanderbilt University School of Medicine study that appeared in "The Journal of Nutrition" in October 2009.
