On the Other: Consumer Reports Likes the Access HD DTA1080D
Consumer Reports released a rundown of digital TV converter boxes on its subscriber-only website and gave top marks to the Access HD DTA1080D. The report hailed this model for its excellent picture and sound, as well as its customizable guide that can show upcoming program information several hours in advance.
Bottom Line
Because the quality, prices and features of converter boxes don't vary widely, reviews don't point to a clear-cut favorite. Either the Access or Zenith/Insignia model would make a solid choice if you're looking for a box that gets great reviews.
