The first lacrosse stick dates back to the 15th century, when North American Indians played a version of lacrosse called "baggataway." The New England tribes are credited with making a stick closely resembling the modern day lacrosse stick. It was more than 3 feet long and had a triangular webbed end with a pocket to cup the ball. .
