Video projectors make business presentations easier since they project an image onto a wall or screen so everyone in the meeting can see at the same time. A projector with an XGA resolution will show a crisp, detailed image.
Definition
The term "XGA" stands for eXtended Graphics Array, and has a resolution of 1,024 x 768 pixels. The 1,024 x 768 resolution has an aspect ratio of 4:3.
True vs Compatible
There are two ways to display an XGA-resolution image. True XGA will display the full 1,024 x 768 image. XGA-compatible projectors will accept the full signal and scale it to the size that the projector can handle---800 x 600, for example.
Use
XGA projectors are the right choice for people that will use the display for spreadsheets or other images with small details.
Other Considerations
It isn't enough to have a projector with an XGA resolution. The computer plugged into the projector needs to be able to provide an image at XGA resolution for the best picture.
Business vs Personal Use
Since DVDs and Blu-Ray discs are designed for widescreen, 16:9 displays and XGA has a 4:3 ratio, XGA projectors are better suited for business presentations, and not for home theater use.
