Hepatitis refers to inflammation of the liver. Three types of hepatitis exist; hepatitis A, hepatitis B and hepatitis C. The cause of hepatitis may include alcohol, infection, medication and exposure to chemicals.
Common Symptoms
Common symptoms shared by hepatitis A, B, and C include nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, fatigue, brownish urine and yellowish discoloration of skin and eyes.
Hepatitis A
Symptoms associated with hepatitis A include diarrhea, fever and rash. Symptoms typically appear between two and six weeks after development and usually go away on their own.
Hepatitis B
Symptoms of hepatitis B include itching sensation all over the body and clay-colored stool. Half of people with hepatitis B do not experience any symptoms, according to e-Medicine Health.
Hepatitis C
According to e-Medicine Health, 80 percent of people with hepatitis C do not show any symptoms. Those who do show symptoms may not experience the symptoms until 10 to 20 years after the hepatitis develops.
