This depends on the software you use on your computer. In order for the MP3 player to work, it must be reading MP3 files (kind of makes sense, huh?). They may be saved automatically as MP3 or possibly as wav. if they are saved in wav format you can usually find programs on the internet to change the format from wav to MP3.

most mp3 players can play wma format but if you upload wma to your player you will be unable to store as many tracks as mp3 files are compressed and take up less room .
