There is no reason that Prograine shouldn't be safe for use. Progaine is touted as being gentle enough for everyday use and even is safe for use on color-treated hair. Also, although Progaine is a product of the Rogaine company, the intent of this product is to volumize the hair you have instead of to regrow lost hair. Because of this, Progaine doesn't have the same chemicals in it that Rogaine does, thus making it even safer to use.

On the Other: Scientists Have Not Yet Evaluated Progaine

Although there is no evidence that Progaine isn't safe for use, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not yet evaluated this product line. This means that although the company has claimed that their product is safe, the FDA has not yet evaluated their claims.

    Bottom Line

Overall, there haven't been any reports of any major side effects that users of the Progaine product line have experienced. Although this product hasn't been approved by the FDA, there are plenty of safe products on the market that haven't been through the FDA approval process. Progaine should be safe to use, but try it a few times before using it long term to ensure that there are not any adverse reactions with your body's specific makeup.
