Bamboo flooring varies in hardness depending on type, color and how it is manufactured. In terms of the Janka scale, the standard measure of flooring hardness, woven bamboo is the hardest at a rating of 3000. A solid bamboo floor has a Janka rating of 1640. Engineered bamboo flooring ranks at 1350-1600. A dark stained bamboo floor only ranks 1120.
