Armour Thyroid is a natural substance made from desiccated porcine adrenal glands. It is used to treat thyroid deficiencies, which occur if the body is not able to produce normal amounts of thyroid hormone.
Uses
When the human body cannot produce enough thyroid hormone naturally, Armour Thyroid is prescribed for a variety of illnesses. Certain nervous disorders can be treated with Armour Thyroid. For example, panic disorders, obsessive compulsive disorders (OCD), generalized anxiety disorders, depression and Bipolar II disorders can be treated with the dessicated thyroid.
Nerve Disorders and Mental Health Treatment
Thyroid cancer, chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), fibromyalgia (FMS) and hypothyroidism (or Hashimoto's disease) can sometimes be treated with Armour Thyroid. Seasonal affective disorder (SAD) can also be treated with Armour Thyroid therapy.
Other uses
Myofascial pain syndrome may also be treated with desiccated adrenal or Armour Thyroid.
Armour Thyroid Therapy
When taking Armour Thyroid, the most important part of the treatment is to take the hormone regularly at least 30 minutes before a meal with a full glass of water.
